Surgeon Offers Injectable Rhinoplasty for Los Angeles Patients

Marina Plastic Surgery Associates is now performing injectable rhinoplasty using dermal fillers. This popular procedure is a non-surgical way to augment or enhance various aspects of the nose.

Marina Del Rey, California (November 2010) – The board-certified plastic surgeons at Marina Plastic Surgery Associates are now offering non-surgical rhinoplasty in Los Angeles. This procedure is beneficial for people who are unsatisfied with the appearance of their nose yet need only minor improvements to achieve their desired look. Through the use of dermal fillers such as Restylane® and RADIESSE®, the surgeons can reshape and augment the nose, enhancing it to be more in balance with other facial features.

"Every week I see people who are looking to change the appearance of their nose," says one of Marina Plastic Surgery's rhinoplasty specialists, "but in many cases, they just want to do something small, like modifying the tip or filling out the bridge. For these patients, I often recommend non-surgical rhinoplasty. For example, if one of my patients wants to augment the bridge of their nose, it can be easily achieved by injecting a dermal filler into the specified area."

Restylane and RADIESSE are two commonly used dermal fillers for injectable rhinoplasty. Restylane is a hyaluronic acid filler that lasts several months before retreatment is necessary. For those who would like a longer-lasting solution, results when using RADIESSE may last a few months longer. Some patients like having fewer treatments, while others appreciate more frequent touch-ups to maintain their nasal shape.

"Injectable rhinoplasty is a great way for patients to improve the look of their nose without having surgery," explains the Los Angeles nose surgery specialist. "However, the trade-off for avoiding the scalpel is that touch-up treatments are required. Typically I see patients about every 9 months or so, depending on which filler is used for their liquid rhinoplasty. Since the results of these fillers fade with time, some of my patients will end up preferring a surgical rhinoplasty procedure for a more permanent solution."

Surgical rhinoplasty is a long-lasting solution to various nasal imperfections. This procedure can address several aspects of the nose, including symmetry, size and shape, width, the nasal tip, bridge, as well as the nostrils. One of the most popular procedures in the United States according to 2009 procedure statistics released by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, rhinoplasty helps bring facial features into balance with one another.

"Rhinoplasty has long been a popular procedure, and lasting correction will always be the goal for a big group of patients," says the Marina Plastic Surgery specialist. "That said, I'm pleased to now offer a non-invasive alternative that can address a number of concerns. In the next few years, I believe injectable rhinoplasty will become more popular among women and men who want to correct minor nasal imperfections."
