Rhinoplasty Photos - Case #2331

Patient Case #2331

This 42-year-old woman wanted to give her nose a more balanced size and create a shape that would look more proportionate with her facial structure. To find out how, she consulted with one of the board-certified plastic surgeons at Marina Plastic Surgery Associates. Her surgeon explained what he could do to meet her goals through rhinoplasty, and they talked over a number of different options to plan for the best Los Angeles rhinoplasty results for her needs.

Rhinoplasty can be performed using either an “open” or a “closed” technique, depending on the individual patient. In the “closed” approach, incisions are hidden inside the nose and scars are not visible from the outside, and in the “open” approach, the surgery is performed through a small incision that the surgeon makes across the strip of tissue between the nostrils. In this woman’s surgery, her surgeon decreased the size of her dorsal hump, giving her nose a straighter bridge. In this type of reduction procedure, the surgeon may also reshape some of the soft tissue at the nose tip to prevent a “ski-slope” appearance.

This patient’s photos were taken both pre-surgery and just one week post-surgery, and she is healing nicely. She is very satisfied with her results from her reduction rhinoplasty. The side-view photos show how her Los Angeles rhinoplasty surgeon has given her a straighter, more delicate appearance that gives her whole face a more balanced and feminine look.
